A young Russian boxer lost consciousness during a training session in Chelyabinsk.
The incident took place at the Dynamo Sports Palace.
On November 6, 22-year-old boxer Georgy Ogolikhin came to training.
The training session went according to plan, but then the athlete lost consciousness, according to the website of the Boxing Federation of the Chelyabinsk Region.
Georgy died shortly after. It is noted that the athlete had a medical permit and a certificate for boxing.
Ogolikhin himself did not complain about his health and did not miss training. The training sessions were held as planned, representatives of the organization emphasized.
He was prepared for the competition by Honored Trainer of the Russian Federation Vladimir Roshchenko.
The Federation's press service added that an internal investigation has been launched into the incident.
The circumstances of the incident are still being established. The coach has been suspended from work for the duration of the investigation.
