Dozens of tourists have gone missing after a tourist yacht sank off the coast of Egypt.
There were 31 tourists of different nationalities on board the vessel, called Sea Story, at the time of the incident, as well as 14 crew members.
The boat sank near the tourist resort of Marsa Alam. The vessel had set off on a diving trip from Port Ghalib in Marsa Alam and was scheduled to arrive at the port of Hurghada on November 29, Mail Online reports.
On the morning of November 25, a crew member sent out a distress signal, after which he disappeared from radar for good.
Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafi confirmed the rescue of several tourists. However, it is not known how many more people are still missing.
The search operation involving the Egyptian Navy continues. In addition, a helicopter was sent to comb the area.
Local weather conditions and the vast area are reported to be making search efforts difficult.
