A tragedy has occurred in the UK, which was caused by a small scratch.
The woman scratched her leg and died just 3 days after the incident.
This was reported by the Express publication, citing a statement made by the deceased woman’s brother.
According to the publication, the 69-year-old woman came to London to visit her daughter, who was soon due to give birth.
After the visit, during which the woman scratched her leg, she returned to her home town of Wolverhampton.
It is noted that at first the woman felt flu-like symptoms. Over time, she became increasingly worse, including due to the wound, which began to cause unbearable pain.
The woman was hospitalized, but numerous surgeries failed to save her from the rare disease. Due to the infection of the wound, the 69-year-old woman contracted necrotizing fasciitis.
This disease develops rapidly and is treated only by surgical intervention, if it is performed in time.
