An American woman, the first client of Sarco's 'suicide capsule', was found with strangulation marks on her neck.
Sarco operator President Dr Florian Willet has been arrested following the woman's death.
An autopsy found possible signs of strangulation on the woman's neck, Newsweek reports.
The new information prompted Schaffhausen prosecutor Peter Sticher to expand the scope of the investigation.
The police do not rule out the possibility of murder.
Willet, who was arrested, remains in custody along with several other participants while police investigate the incident.
The woman was the camera's first user. She died on September 23 in the middle of a forest in a sparsely populated part of Switzerland.
According to the creators of Sarco, due to the large amount of nitrogen in the chamber, a person loses consciousness and painlessly passes away.
Reports of physical marks on the woman have not been fully verified.
However, the arrested man, as the police found out, was unable to observe the entire process in the capsule due to technical problems.
