American authorities have promised a reward to anyone who helps them detain the Russian hacker.

The US State Department has announced a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the arrest of Russian national Tim Stigall.

He is suspected of illegally trading personal and corporate financial data of United States citizens, the agency's website says.

The department's statement claims that monetary rewards will be provided to residents of any country if they provide tangible assistance.

The final amount of the sum will be assessed based on the value of the information provided. The maximum promised reward is $1 million.

Stigall is on the U.S. Secret Service's Most Wanted list.

American authorities periodically announce rewards for the capture of hackers from different countries, including Russia. Sometimes the promised amounts significantly exceed $1 million.
