An American family is seeking $80,000 in damages from NASA after space debris fell on their home.
Debris from a tray detached from the space station has fallen onto the roof of a home in Naples, Florida.
A piece of space debris that didn't burn up in the atmosphere made a hole in the roof of a private home on March 8. Now the family is demanding compensation from NASA for the damage, The Guardian writes.
No one was injured during the incident, but the applicants' son was in the house at the time.
The family's lawsuit states that they suffered losses for uninsured property and agency assistance. They were forced to take a break from work.
The family's lawyers are calling for adequate compensation for the stress and suffering that has impacted their lives.
NASA will have no more than six months to respond to the family's claim.
Earlier it was reported that debris from the ISS pierced the house of a resident of an American state.
