Italian media reported on an incident on a beach in the city of Crotone.
Here, a native of Ukraine died under strange circumstances.
The newspaper Corriere della Sera writes that the man was relaxing with his family on the beach. Everything was going well until a swarm of wasps appeared nearby.
The publication notes that the Ukrainian was allergic to the bites of these insects. Escaping from them, he jumped into the sea, where he suffered cardiac arrest.
Doctors were unable to bring the tourist back to life. All they could do was confirm death and determine the cause.
It was assumed that the Ukrainian died of anaphylactic shock. But when examining the body, doctors found no traces of a bite.
Therefore, another version was put forward, according to which the man died from an extremely strong fear of being stung by wasps.
A strong fright could trigger processes that led to premature death.
The newspaper indicates that the deceased worked as an engineer and was 47 years old.
