The British Army will begin a "hunt" for those with a unique skill.
The British military will actively recruit programmers, gamers and anyone with any IT skills.
This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom John Healey during a speech at the conference of the Labour Party. The broadcast was conducted by the YouTube channel of the party.
The official said that he would work to strengthen cyber squads to counter “Russian aggression” in virtual space.
Healy decided to start by lowering the requirements for recruits with IT experience, who he believes have a unique skill set that the modern military needs.
“If you are one of the best gamers or code developers, the country needs you,” the minister emphasized.
Healey will repeal about 100 orders that he believes have contributed to the military recruitment crisis.
According to the minister, over the past 10 years, 1 million people wanted to join the army, but 3 out of every 4 recruits abandoned their decision due to excessive bureaucratization of the process.
