Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke about relations with the East and the West.
He explained that Turkey does not have to choose between the EU and the SCO, as some claim.
Erdogan also said that Ankara does not intend to give preference to membership only in the EU or the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, TRT Haber TV channel reports.
The Turkish leader stated Turkey's intention to continue developing relations with both the East and the West.
Erdogan believes that any other path will negatively affect the country's development. Therefore, Türkiye does not want to choose between the EU and the SCO.
Only in this case does Ankara have a chance to become strong and respected, he noted.
Erdogan also said that Türkiye plans to join the SCO as a full member.
At the same time, Ankara sees membership in the European Union as an important strategic goal.
