According to the politician, expenses could be reduced if Canada became the 51st US state.
On his social network Truth Social, the politician pondered why his country has to subsidize Canada by more than $100 million a year.
In his opinion, many Canadian citizens would not oppose their country joining the United States, since such a move would help save on military protection and taxes.
Therefore, the politician concluded, turning Canada into 51 states would be an excellent idea.
It is noted that this is not the first time Trump has raised this issue.
For example, he has already referred to the Canadian prime minister as the governor of the great state of Canada after disagreements arose between the two countries' administrations over the possible imposition of tariffs on Canadian goods.
