Donald Trump, who won the presidential election, wanted to pull his opponent out of the debt hole.
The politician offered Kamala Harris help in paying off her $20 million (RUB 1.95 billion) debt.
Trump addressed the US Vice President on his page on the social network Truth Social (owned by Trump's company).
After the presidential race, Harris' campaign was left with a $20 million debt.
This information surprised Trump. He noted that the Democrats had already raised a “record amount of money” in 2020.
He then offered to help pay off the debt: “We have a lot of money left.”
The politician added that Republicans must do this for the sake of “unity,” which is “so necessary now.”
Before this, American media found out that Harris’s headquarters managed to raise $1 billion (97.8 billion rubles) for the election campaign.
As of October 16, Harris had $118 million (RUB 11.5 billion) in her account.
