The problem of bedbugs in hotels in Turkey has worsened.

Thousands of tourists complain of bites, and hoteliers believe that the insects are brought in by European holidaymakers.

The most affected by bedbugs are the popular resorts of Antalya and Alanya, writes the publication Milliyet .

Disinfections in hotels do not bring results, as the bedbugs return after a few weeks.

Akdeniz University professor Huseyin Cetin explains that bedbug larvae enter hotels through tourists' luggage.

In his opinion, the problem worsened after the Paris Olympics.

Even high-class hotels in Antalya are suffering from the invasion of bloodsucking insects.

Complaints about bedbugs have come from hotels in Egypt, Thailand and other countries. A bedbug problem has been reported in the UK.

Tourists are advised to check their rooms upon check-in to avoid unpleasant situations.
