At the first stage, the authorities plan to hand out $300 to social security card holders and people with disabilities. This is about 14.5 million people.
The total number of participants in the state program is estimated at 36 million citizens with a population of about 66 million people (according to data for 2021).
Authorities expect the experiment to trigger a "spending tornado" that will ultimately boost economic activity.
