The government decided to hand out $300 (about 27.8 thousand rubles) to millions of residents of the country.

The initiative of the Thai authorities was reported by the news agency Reuters .

The Kingdom's Cabinet of Ministers has allocated $14 billion (about 1.29 trillion rubles) to implement a project aimed at stimulating economic activity.

At the first stage, the authorities plan to hand out $300 to social security card holders and people with disabilities. This is about 14.5 million people.

The total number of participants in the state program is estimated at 36 million citizens with a population of about 66 million people (according to data for 2021).

Authorities expect the experiment to trigger a "spending tornado" that will ultimately boost economic activity.
