Russian citizens are advised to visit Abkhazia in the near future.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also advises Russians to leave this republic if such an opportunity exists.
The official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, made this statement, as reported on the ministry’s website .
Abkhazia is currently not a safe place for Russians, so it is recommended to cancel tourist and other types of trips.
Zakharova advises those who are already in the republic to stay away from areas of unrest.
If possible, it is better to leave this country, the agency representative emphasized.
Moscow is concerned about what is currently happening in the republic.
Zakharova noted that the Abkhaz opposition failed to resolve disagreements with the legitimate authorities through dialogue.
According to her, the protesters have gone beyond the legal framework.
Russia does not intend to interfere in this situation, but is interested in a peaceful resolution.
