"The most frugal Japanese woman" lived "on pennies" and saved up for expensive real estate.

However, she didn't have to spend her entire life on it. It took 15 years from setting the goal to fulfilling the dream.

The story of a 37-year-old Japanese woman named Saki Tamogami was brought to the attention of the South China Morning Post .

At 19, the girl wanted to have three houses by the age of 34. To do this, she went into strict savings mode, spending $1.4 (128 rubles) per day.

After graduating from university, she worked as a real estate agent. Saki saved almost all of her salary for her first home.

The standard diet consisted of toast, noodles and radishes. Restaurants and cafes were forbidden. Cooking at home allowed spending only $0.35 (31.85 rubles) per meal. The hunt for discounts and promotions also contributed.

The girl did not buy new clothes, but took old things from relatives. Tamogami did not go to a hairdresser or beauty salon. When her hair became too long, she sold it.

As a result, by the age of 27, she had $69,000 (more than 6.3 million rubles) at her disposal, which she spent on buying her first home. The girl immediately rented out the property.

Two years later, she had enough money to buy a second home for $124,500 (more than 11.3 million rubles). In 2019, the Japanese woman bought a third home for $256,000 (more than 23.4 million rubles).

She now owns her own business and plans to buy more property.
