Switzerland has spoken out regarding the earlier statements made by the Israeli Finance Minister.

The head of the communications department of the Swiss Foreign Ministry called the words of the Israeli representative unacceptable.

Nicolas Bidault made this statement on his account on the social network X.

The issue concerns a statement made by Bezalel Smotrich on Monday. The Israeli finance minister believes that the fight to free the Israeli hostages is worth blocking humanitarian aid supplies to Gaza.

At the same time, he himself admitted that the international community would not allow such measures, since this would lead to the death of at least 2 million Palestinians.

Commenting on these statements, Bidault stressed that they are unacceptable. The extermination of civilians by starvation is contrary to all international rules, and therefore Israel is expected to follow them.

Otherwise, Tel Aviv's behavior will be considered a war crime.
