A lame man-eating wolf has become active again in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
His appearance causes panic among the local population.
This was reported by The New Indian Express .
After foresters captured his former pack, the search for the last, lame wolf continues.
Since early July, a pack of man-eating wolves has attacked several villages in the Bahrain region.
The predators killed eight people, including seven children, and injured more than 20 people.
During the operation, foresters managed to catch five wolves. However, the sixth, presumably lame, has not yet been found.
Villagers speculate that the newly spotted pack may include this lame man-eating wolf.
However, District Forest Officer Ajit Pratap Singh has dismissed the claims, saying there is no evidence to support the claim.
The situation in Uttar Pradesh remains tense.
Foresters and police continue to search for the lame man-eating wolf and his possible new pack.
