TV Chosun , citing a South Korean official, reports that North Korean authorities have allegedly executed up to thirty civil servants.
All worked in an area that was hit by floods and were accused of failing to prevent damage caused by the disaster.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has previously said publicly that he would severely punish individuals who "seriously neglected" their duties, ultimately leading to casualties.
Floods in North Korea
Heavy rains hit the republic in late July, causing floods that caused significant damage to the local economy.
It is reported that over 4.1 thousand houses were flooded, as well as a significant part of agricultural land.
South Korea claimed that up to 1,500 people had died in the floods.
Chairman Kim called the reports a "smear campaign."
