In Taiwan, a 20-year-old son sued his mother for throwing away his comic book collection.
The Chiayi District Court has ordered the mother to pay NT$5,000 for the discarded comic book collection.
This is compensation for damages caused after a woman threw away her son's collection of 32 comic books, the Taipei Times reports.
The court noted that the fine could be replaced by correctional labor and the decision was appealed.
Causes of the conflict
A woman named Chien lives with her son, who collects manga and magazines.
The mother says there is no room in the house to store all of her son's collections.
She threw away the manga because it started to grow mold due to the humidity.
Son finds his 32 volume collection of Attack on Titan manga thrown away.
He got angry and sued his mother. The son said that some books were no longer published and it would be difficult to replace them.
Prosecutors charged the woman with destruction of property.
The court ordered the mother to pay NT$5,000 in damages.
