The new NATO Secretary General spoke about the strengthening of the North Atlantic Alliance's presence near Russia's borders.
The organization intends to continue its work in this direction.
Mark Rutte made this statement while speaking at a conference following the meeting of NATO defense ministers, RIA Novosti reports.
Rutte noted that during the meeting the allies discussed strengthening the defense of the states that are part of the North Atlantic bloc, and also raised the issue of deterrence.
According to him, the eastern front was significantly strengthened, where more intensive patrolling began.
According to the Secretary General, the organization does not intend to stop there.
NATO plans to further strengthen its presence in the eastern direction, where the borders of the Russian Federation are located.
Paul, in support of Rutte, listed the adoption of the following measures:
- expansion of the air defense system;
- use of artillery systems;
- delivery of fifth-generation fighters - F-35 models and others.
