The Russian Ambassador to Canada commented on the effect of anti-Russian sanctions.
According to the diplomat, the restrictions introduced primarily hit the West itself, especially its citizens.
Oleg Stepanov posted the corresponding article on his account on the social network X.
As the expert noted, the West hoped to isolate Russia with the help of “hellish sanctions,” but it did not work.
Moreover, in their attempts to limit the Russian Federation, Western countries miscalculated so much that the consequences hit their populations.
And all this was done with one single goal in mind: to preserve the “hegemony of Washington’s ‘golden billion’.”
And although the economic war unleashed against Russia should have completely destroyed its economy, all the consequences that have now manifested themselves have only led to rapidly growing costs of the political course chosen by the West.
Earlier it was reported that the European Union had expanded sanctions against the Russian Federation.
