The new scandal at the Paris Olympics did not happen without the participation of the United States.

Due to a controversial situation that arose during the gymnastics competition, the Prime Minister of Romania refused to go to the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Marcel Ciolacu wrote on his official social media page that he will not go to Paris as a sign of protest.

He thus condemned the decision taken against gymnast Ana Maria Barbosa. She was stripped of her bronze medal in the floor exercise.

The politician said that the competent authorities treated the Romanian athletes “absolutely dishonestly.”

Gymnast Barbosa took 3rd place in the competition and received a bronze medal.

But the US team intervened in the situation. The team demanded that their athlete's results be reviewed.

As a result, gymnast Jordan Chiles received bronze, and the Romanian athlete was moved to fourth place.
