The opposition in Abkhazia continues to demand the resignation of the fugitive president Aslan Bzhania.
Protest leader Lebanon Mikaa said negotiations with the authorities had been suspended since the evening of November 15.
The reason was the flight of President Aslan Bzhania, RBC reports, citing sources.
According to Mikaa, the president has left the capital Sukhum. The opposition does not know where he is.
According to an unconfirmed version, Bzhania may be at a Russian military base.
The press service of the head of the republic stated that he was in his native village of Tamysh, located 40 kilometers from the capital. The press service also denied information about his presence at the base.
Protesters remain in the parliament building and government complex.
They demanded the resignation of the president, vice president and prime minister of the country.
The protesters proposed the speaker of parliament and opposition representative Lasha Ashuba as acting head of state.
Parliament may consider the resignation of President Bzhania if he does not respond by the morning.
