The European Parliament suspects Hungary of allowing Russian spies into the European Union.
Dutch MEP Jeroen Lenars made this statement in his address to the European Commission.
The MEP explained that Budapest is organizing overly simplified conditions for entry of Russians and Belarusians within the framework of the "national card" program. This is reported by "Lenta.ru" .
Lenars condemned the Hungarian authorities for allowing Russian and Belarusian workers into the country without the usual security checks.
Moreover, no restrictions were placed on the number of workers invited.
According to Lenars, Hungary does not require any certificates to prove that the work is necessary.
The country also allows for unlimited extension of the permit. Invited workers are even allowed to bring their families to Hungary.
According to Jeroen Lenars, the simplified entry scheme into the EU for Russians and Belarusians creates a high level of risk of espionage activities.
In this regard, he calls on the European Commission to pay attention to the growing security threat to the entire European Union and to take appropriate measures.
