American entrepreneur, billionaire, founder of Tesla and Neuralink Elon Musk said that the European Commission offered him an illegal deal.
Musk noted that the EC wanted to enter into a “secret illegal agreement” with him in exchange for refusing to fine the social network.
In his post on X, the entrepreneur wrote: “If we had introduced quiet censorship without telling anyone, we wouldn’t have been fined.”
According to the billionaire, other platforms have entered into similar agreements with the EC.
Musk's confession
The European Commission announced on Friday that Elon Musk's social network X is in violation of EU law.
As the EC pointed out, social network X, in its activities, allows violations related to ensuring transparency of advertising.
The EU's top executive body noted that X has time to analyse the claims and eliminate the violations.
Otherwise, the EC will impose significant penalties on X.
