A case of human trafficking involving spouses from Moldova has been solved in Poland.

Moldovan citizens forced disabled people from the Russian Federation to beg for alms in Poland.

Moreover, Russians were brought to Poland with the promise of legal work, RIA Novosti writes.

Two disabled Russians were forced to beg outside shopping centres.

Secretary of the Warmia-Masuria Border Guard Service Miroslava Aleksandrowicz said that the wheelchairs were taken away from the Russians.

A couple from Moldova gave them a structure made of construction boards on wheels instead.

The case was solved thanks to the revelations of one of the Russians at the center for foreigners in Ketrzyn.

After talking with the disabled man, the police suspected that the two Russians had become victims of human trafficking.

Aleksandrovich emphasized that the married couple from Moldova could face up to 20 years in prison.
