The murder of a foreigner by a hitman in Chisinau occurred as a result of a criminal showdown.
Following the incident, the Moldovan opposition bloc "Victory" demanded the resignation of the heads of the police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Information and Security Service.
Member of Parliament from the bloc Marina Tauber wrote in her personal blog that national security in the country has deteriorated.
According to her, state resources are not capable of combating organized crime and criminals.
She believes that the case is a worrying sign for the ruling Action and Solidarity party.
Tauber, on behalf of the bloc, called on the leadership of the police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Security and Information Security Service to resign due to inaction.
