New details about the situation in South Korea have become known.
Army forces were brought into the parliament building.
This was reported by the RIA Novosti news agency, citing information from the Secretary General of the South Korean Parliament, Kim Min Gi.
It is noted that the events developed as follows. First, the police did not allow legislators and other officials to enter the parliament territory from Tuesday evening.
Then, on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the South Korean Ministry of Defense sent military personnel who are under martial law to the government building.
Let us recall that martial law was declared by the country's president on the night of December 3-4. The basis for this decision was to get rid of allegedly pro-North Korean forces.
At the same time, 190 parliamentarians present in parliament voted against the introduction of martial law in the country.
Three hours after the vote, the head of state announced his intention to end martial law. According to Kim Min Gi, an assessment will be made of the damage caused to the parliament during the declaration of martial law.
