Mi-8 helicopter with Russian pilots crashes in Pakistan: 6 people killed

An Mi-8 helicopter crashed in northern Pakistan.

At least six people died and eight more were hospitalized.

The plane crash occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province near the border with Afghanistan, Geo reports.

The helicopter belonged to Mari Petroleum Limited (Pakistan), a company engaged in oil exploration and production.

The information about the incident was confirmed by a company representative.

The Mi-8 was flown by three Russian pilots. The aircraft crashed due to technical reasons near an oil field.

There were 14 people on board. Eight survived, six died at the scene.

Pakistani military personnel arrived here along with doctors and rescuers.

The wounded were hospitalized in a military hospital. It turned out to be the closest of all medical institutions.

It is specified that technical problems appeared shortly after takeoff.

The pilots attempted an emergency landing, but the tail rotor hit the ground and the landing was extremely hard.
