The president of a private university almost lost a large sum of money.
A resident of the American state of Rhode Island won $1 million (88 million rubles) in the lottery, but did not come to collect the money.

He did not believe in winning, knowing that the chance was very small. The man put the ticket in the table and forgot about it for several months.
Only recently he remembered about it and decided to check. Then the head of the private university found out that he was the owner of a large sum.
After paying taxes, the winner received $700 thousand (62 million rubles). He decided to donate part of the money to his university.
The man also donated part of the proceeds to a charity that he has been helping for many years.
He distributed the rest of the money among relatives and put some into a retirement account.
