French journalists have revealed details about the Russian detained in Paris.
On July 21, 40-year-old Kirill Gryaznov was detained in the French capital. European intelligence services had been monitoring him since May 2024.
The reason for this was the story of Gryaznov himself, writes the publication Le Monde . While drunk, the man shared with those around him that he had received a "secret mission."
French law enforcement officials claim that the Russian was allegedly preparing “destabilizing” events during the Olympics.
Le Monde conducted its own investigation together with other media outlets. The publication came to the conclusion that Gryaznov was allegedly recruited by the FSB and GRU.
The man let slip his plans at the beginning of May at the Sofia airport (Bulgaria).
At the time, he was drunk and told everyone that he was flying to Paris on a “secret mission.” At the same time, the Russian allegedly showed those around him some kind of ID.
On July 23, Gryaznov was charged with “transmitting intelligence to a foreign state with the aim of inciting hatred in France.”
It is alleged that during the arrest, a certain document was found on the man, which the media called an ID of a Russian special service employee, as well as diplomatic documents. Gryaznov faces up to 30 years in prison.
