A major Japanese politician became the hero of a funny incident during an official event.
Shigeru Ishiba, 67, fell asleep during his own re-election as Japan's prime minister.
The Nikkei newspaper reports and publishes the corresponding frame.
On November 11, a plenary session of the House of Representatives of Japan was held.
During the first vote, the politician crossed his arms over his chest, closed his eyes and looked down.
"Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba appears to have fallen asleep during the prime ministerial election," the newspaper notes.
Japan's Chief Cabinet Secretary explained what happened.
He said that such an incident was related to the fact that the prime minister took cold medicine, which could have made him doze off.
The government added that the politician has no serious health problems. But due to a cold, he had to see a doctor on November 9.
