The 26-year-old man was hospitalized on Tuesday in serious condition. The patient had symptoms of fever, vomiting and headache.

However, just a few days after being infected with the rare amoeba Naegleria fowleri, despite all efforts, the patient died.
According to preliminary information, the victim may have been infected with the parasite after swimming in Lake Kinneret. The water temperature in this body of water reaches 30 degrees Celsius, and it is under these conditions that parasites develop.
