France expressed concern over the escalation of the situation in Lebanon.

In connection with this, the Israeli ambassador was summoned to the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This information was shared by the TASS agency, citing information provided by the French department.

According to media reports, the reason for summoning the Israeli diplomat was the attack on Lebanon.

As a result of the military operation, two peacekeepers belonging to the UN Interim Force, who are currently in Lebanon, were injured. It is noted that the shelling was carried out on the building of the peacekeepers' headquarters.

The French Foreign Ministry reminded that such actions are unacceptable, as they run counter to international law. In particular, the parties to the conflict must ensure the safety of the UN mission staff.

Having summoned the Israeli ambassador, representatives of the French Foreign Ministry expressed their condemnation of what is happening in Lebanon and called for a ceasefire, as well as reminding about the need for a diplomatic settlement of the current situation.
