Iran has banned all electronic devices on board planes, with the exception of mobile phones.
This decision applies to both carry-on and checked baggage.
The ban includes pagers, walkie-talkies and other mobile devices, the country's Civil Aviation Organization reported on its personal blog.
Passengers are only allowed to carry mobile phones.
Emirates Airlines has announced similar restrictions on flights to and from Dubai.
Travellers have been warned that if prohibited devices are found they will be confiscated by police.
Lebanon's civil aviation authority has also introduced restrictions on radios and pagers on board aircraft.
Reason for the ban
The main reason for the ban on mobile devices on planes was the explosions of personal pagers belonging to Hezbollah members.
Thousands of people were injured in the mass detonation of radios and pagers in Lebanon.
Many Hezbollah members have multiple lesions on their eyes and body parts.
