Weather conditions caused a curious situation, in which the Polish paratroopers turned out to be the heroes.
The soldiers of the 2nd reconnaissance regiment found themselves in an awkward situation.
As RMF24 reports, the soldiers were supposed to practice landing in the Błędowska Desert in southern Poland.
But the exercise went awry immediately after the fighters left the plane.
They had parachutes that opened automatically when they exited the plane. The ability to control the direction of flight in this case was significantly limited.
In addition, there was a strong wind that picked up 12 paratroopers and carried them several hundred meters to the northwest.
The paratroopers found themselves not in the desert, but in the village of Kheklo. And they did not land, but caught on power lines and ended up in a suspended position.
Local residents came to the aid of the soldiers. There were no serious injuries. Only one soldier was taken to the hospital with a leg injury.
