IDF confirms death of likely successor to Hezbollah leader

The IDF announced the elimination of the head of the Hezbollah executive council, Hashem Safieddin.

Until recently, the deceased was considered Nasrallah's successor.

Hashem Safieddine was killed in a missile strike in the Dahiya area of Beirut, The Times of Israel reports.

IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevy officially confirmed the death of Hashem Safieddin.

The body of the head of Hezbollah's executive council was found on the outskirts of Beirut.

The Israeli army also reported the death of Hezbollah's chief of intelligence staff and other commanders of the organization.

At least 25 people from Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters were present at the headquarters at the time of the strike.
