The situation in the United States is becoming critical due to the powerful cyclone Milton approaching Florida.
A strong hurricane can surpass all previous ones in strength and destructive consequences.
According to Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, this will be one of the most destructive tropical cyclones in the last century, RIA Novosti writes.
The forecaster said the predictions of the likely impact of the cyclone were impressive.
Vilfand said Milton will be more powerful than hurricanes Ivan the Terrible in 2004 and Katrina in 2005.
Preliminary, the power of the approaching cyclone will exceed hurricane winds by almost twice.
At the highest scale, hurricane winds reach speeds of 33 meters per second or more.
Vilfand emphasized that Milton, which is approaching Florida, could surpass the most destructive hurricane in US history in 2005 in terms of power.
