Boris Pistorius commented on Russia's decision to update its nuclear doctrine.
The German Defense Minister claims that this step by Moscow will not have any impact on Germany and NATO as a whole.
During the press conference, Pistorius reacted sharply to the Kremlin's decision to update its nuclear doctrine. A recording of the official's speech is available on the website of the German Defense Ministry.
The head of the German department believes that this decision by Moscow does not deserve attention from Europe or the United States.
Pistorius stressed that this move should not be commented on.
"Tomorrow will be something else. We are going our own way, we are doing what we think is right," the official said.
The head of the German Defense Ministry made it clear that neither Berlin nor NATO intend to change anything in their foreign policy in light of Russia’s actions.
In the US, Moscow's decision was called "untimely" and "irresponsible", according to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
