The production of natural mineral water at the only Perrier bottling plant in Vergez, France, has been ordered to cease.
The test showed a significant deterioration in the quality of the water used.
Nestlé Waters has recommended stopping production of mineral water due to virological risks, Le Monde reports.
A report from France's health agency said the microbiological results were unusual for the water.
In particular, it is emphasized that microorganisms strictly prohibited by law were found in it.
In April, 3 million bottles of Perrier were destroyed due to contamination by faecal bacteria from a water well.
Following this episode, repeated cases were found. Testing found them unacceptable for natural water.
Perrier is currently at risk of losing its label, which puts production at risk.
