A 40-year-old former police investigator from Krasnodar found herself in a difficult situation in Thailand.

The woman has been living at Bangkok airport for over a week and begging for alms in order to return to Russia.

The details were provided by a volunteer who helps Russian citizens in Thailand, RIA Novosti reports.

A resident of Krasnodar has been at Suvarnabhumi Airport for 9 days with 200 baht (477 rubles) in her pocket. She is begging to buy a ticket home, the agency reports.

She uses the money of caring people to go to the store. The Russian woman does not have a phone. In addition, her passport has expired.

She has until July 10 to leave the country, otherwise local authorities may send her to a deportation center.

The woman arrived in Thailand 4 months ago. Her relatives were unaware that she had left for Asia. No one knows exactly what she had been doing all this time.

Volunteers contacted her mother, but the woman refused to help her.

Sponsors were found for the Russian woman who agreed to pay for the flight from Bangkok to Moscow, and then from the capital to Krasnodar.

One of those who responded was a resident of Phuket, a former colleague and childhood friend of the Russian woman.

Journalists claim that 40-year-old Yulia Sukhanova found herself in an unpleasant situation.

Until February 2021, she worked as a police investigator, but was fired due to gross violation of professional discipline.

Earlier in Thailand, a Russian woman died after a quarrel with her husband.
