Passengers are increasingly criticizing the quality of hot drinks on board planes.

Rumours of dirty water and unhygienic coffee pots have sparked much discussion online.

However, a former British flight attendant who worked in aviation for 16 years claims that these reports are not true, writes the Daily Mail .

One such myth is that coffee pots are taken to toilets to be filled with water.

It was also claimed that the water for tea and coffee on board was taken from the same system as the water for the toilets.

However, the former flight attendant is confident that passengers have nothing to worry about.

She explained that the procedures for preparing food and drinks are controlled by sanitary standards.

Fresh water is loaded on board every day. The water supply system on the plane also eliminates the possibility of cross-contamination.

The flight attendant insists that drinking cappuccino and tea on the plane is completely safe.
