First world record set at Paris Olympics

The 21-year-old athlete from South Korea broke the world record set in 2019.

The opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris has not yet taken place, but the first record has already been set.

On July 25, Lim Si-hyun distinguished herself by scoring 694 points in the archery competition. The tournament was broadcast on the IOC website .

The 2023 world champion broke the record of her compatriot Kang Chae-yeon (692 points), set five years ago.

In addition, the South Korean team in Paris broke its own record, scoring 2,046 points in the team tournament and taking first place.

Olympics in Paris

The opening ceremony of the Games will take place on Friday, July 26. Meanwhile, competitions in some sports are already underway. For example, rugby sevens and football matches have already taken place.

The 2024 Olympics will end on August 11. Athletes from Russia and Belarus are allowed to participate under a neutral flag. Some athletes refused to participate, some were not allowed by decision of IOC functionaries.
