Finnish Interior Minister Mari Rantanen has spoken out on the topic of opening a checkpoint on the border with Russia.
According to the official, the relevant document does not directly provide for the opening of checkpoints.
Rantanen explained: “The lifting of the ban on closing borders directly depends on the security situation,” as reported by TASS .
According to the Finnish minister, the authorized bodies are continuously monitoring the situation.

Rantanen added: "Once security improves, the borders will be opened."
The official made this information public during a briefing in parliament while talking to reporters.
In particular, journalists raised the question of whether the borders with Russia will be opened after the law on the return of refugees comes into force.
