Information has emerged about the kind of truce the US expects from Israel.
The terms could include strikes on Lebanon during the sixty-day suspension of hostilities.
This was reported by the Wall Street Journal , which received a draft copy of the document.
According to the publication, US mediators are negotiating between the Israeli government and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement.
The parties to the conflict are being offered a temporary truce for 60 days. At the same time, the conditions that they are going to offer to Israel will allegedly include a clause on the possibility of striking at Lebanese territory.
It is specified that Israel will be able to resort to such measures in the event of immediate threats.
The deal also provides for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese territory. In turn, the Lebanese side will have to deploy its military forces in the south of the country to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure.
However, given the conditions that give Israel more freedom of action, Lebanon has not yet given its consent to a ceasefire.
