The authorities of the Republic of Cyprus have introduced new visa requirements for Russians.
Now they almost completely replicate the Schengen ones, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) reported.
Experts have said that it will become more difficult for Russians to obtain a visa to visit Cyprus.
In addition, you will have to wait longer than usual, according to the ATOR website . The application will be reviewed for up to 15 days, although previously it took three to four days.
Also, tourists will now be required to provide an extract from the Pension and Social Insurance Fund for the last 10 years.
Applicants will also have to provide a bank statement showing the movement of funds for the last three months and a certificate from work with data for six months.
Today, it is already difficult for Russians to get to Cyprus.
Tourists get to the island with transfers. For example, a flight via the Armenian capital is popular. The route via Istanbul is excluded, but there are also Dubai and Doha.
