A scandal has erupted at one of China's zoos, causing outrage among visitors.

People came to the zoo to see rare and exotic animals and discovered that the pandas were actually disguised dogs.

This is exactly what happened in a Chinese zoo, writes Mail Online .

The staff decided to paint the puppies black and white to pass them off as pandas.

A video posted online shows these unusual "pandas" with black ears and circles around their eyes.

Visitors became suspicious when the "pandas" in their enclosure suddenly began breathing heavily.

In response, zoo staff admitted that they had dyed two chow chows.

This is a thick-coated Spitz breed from northern China.

At the same time, the zoo insists that it did not mislead people.

They never said they were pandas. Instead, they called them "panda dogs."

The zoo also denies the cruelty allegations, explaining that people dye their hair and that natural dyes can be used on dogs with long hair.
