Geologists have stumbled upon huge gold deposits in China.
A super-large gold deposit has been found in Hunan Province (southeast China).
This was reported on Thursday, November 21, by the Xinhua news agency, citing the Chinese region's geological administration.
At the first stages of work, specialists found 40+ gold-bearing veins, which in total will yield about 300 tons of precious metal. This volume lies at a depth of 2000 m.
Another 1,000 tons remain to be mined at a depth of 3,000 m.
In monetary terms, all this is worth about 600 billion yuan (approximately 8.3 trillion rubles).
But these are still preliminary estimates. Geologists do not rule out that there is actually even more gold here.
They hope that new exploration technology will help them better tap the region's potential.
