A UK resident has filed a lawsuit against the local government, demanding $647 million.
He wants to dig up a hard drive with 8,000 bitcoins that he accidentally threw away, but the authorities forbid it.
The man claims that the disk contains bitcoins worth a fortune, writes LADBible
A British man accidentally lost a hard drive on which he had stored 8,000 bitcoins for 10 years.
He even hired a former municipal landfill manager to help track down the disk's location.
The man believes the disk containing the bitcoins is in Cell 2 - Area 2 of the Docksway landfill in Newport.
However, Newport City Council said they could not allow the man to dig up the site.
They explain their decision by the possible negative impact on the environment.
According to the landfill workers, despite the reward, the chances of finding the lost equipment are negligible.
However, the man does not lose hope and intends to go to court to get his money back.
