The body of a German tourist who suddenly disappeared in Japan in early October has been found in the ocean after weeks of searching.

It was badly disfigured due to being in the water for a long time.

DNA testing confirmed that the man was a 21-year-old German student who arrived in Japan in September and went missing in early October, SoraNews 24 reports.

The young man was traveling around Japan with the aim of visiting popular tourist spots.

He always kept in touch with his mother, communicating via social media. However, as his parents reported, after October 10, he stopped communicating.

The police launched an investigation. After studying the CCTV footage, they noticed what they believed to be the missing tourist.

A young man was walking near a railway station late in the evening on October 11.

His passport and phone were later found in a public toilet, and his suitcase with his belongings was found at the station.

The Coast Guard reported on November 1 that a body had been found about 1.5 kilometers from the shore.

DNA testing confirmed that he was the missing German tourist.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of his death in order to find out the reasons for the tragedy.
